Nominator's project description
| Professor Nachtergaele is a leading mathematical physicist and well known internationally for his fundamental contributions to quantum statistical mechanics and quantum many-body theory. His current research interests include ground states and low-lying excitations of quantum lattice systems, properties of their dynamics and the stability of quantum phases. Applications are found in condensed matter physics as well as quantum information theory. During his stay in Germany, he intends to work on mathematical models related to the fractional quantum Hall effect. |
